ALBANY - A local family makes a $45,000 donation to the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
The money is from the “Nick's Fight to Be Healed Foundation.”
It honors 13-year-old Nick Cammarata of Clifton Park, who lost his battle with leukemia in 2008, The foundation supports young patients fighting cancer and their families.
“Our belief is that it's a tragedy what happened to my son. I'd take him back in an instant, but why not do good in his name and keep his spirit alive, because he would be the first one to reach out and do something,” reasoned Janine Cammarata, Nick’s mom.
The gift will pay for a child life specialist at the melodies center for childhood cancer and blood disorders.
It will also pay for TV sets and video games that can be used by young patients in their activity room.Read the Full Article Here
