The carnival is coming! The Gillette family has been very good to Nick’s Fight. They donate a percentage of their ticket sales during our sponsored event as well as wristbands for our Melodies Center families on May 30. The carnival is open for everyone! We’ll have our commemorative hats for sale marking our 10 year anniversary! Plus free bags for the children to carry all their game prizes in. Nick’s Fight began 10 years ago to makes sense of losing Nick to cancer. There were so many services that could have made his hospital stays easier so this became our family’s mission—to reduce stress while giving hope. In the last 10 years, we have raised over $1,000,000.00!! We could not have done it without our family, community, volunteers, and donors. We have found that one of the most powerful ways to foster healing is to give back. Nick’s Fight donated $50,000.00 for The Melodies Center’s Child Life Specialist position, which is only funded through grants and donations. It’s an essential role that transitions a child with cancer into this scary and unpredictable world of cancer. We honored our Volunteer of the year-Kyle Bryant who chairs our golf event and our teen Volunteer of the year-Sarah Collins who is also president of Nick’s Round Table. Our warrior for Nick’s Run is Olivia DeWitt and we are joing forces with the Honsinger family to raise funds to find a cure for their son JP who also gets treated at the clinic.
